A LEGEND!!!! ..............
Up a winding track just a kilometre away from Valldemossa, hidden from the world lies the small, intimate Mirabó de Valldemossa. For lovers of peace and quiet – this could be your nirvana. A passionately restored 17th century manor house, renovated and turned into a Hotel in 2002. It already has an ever growing reputation for the chilled out, laid back atmosphere. There is no reception here, you ring a bell and Miguel or Ignacio will magically appear 24/7. The service they gives is all consuming and there is nothing they will not do, or try to arrange for you. A rarity in the hospitality industry, but thankfully becoming less rare. The visitor’s book contains numerous comments thanking them for all that they have has done. “Miguel is a legend” says one.
The house is beautiful and the room that houses the old olive press is impressive, even containing antique books for you to thumb through. Wine bottles fill the olive press stones – help yourself and just sign the “honesty” book. Take the bottle of wine to an upper terrace and enjoy the wonderful views over the picturesque village of Valldemossa (not to be missed when it is lit up at night!). The kitchen is also stocked for your use, again on an “honesty” basis.
Two swimming pools (one an infinity pool, the other a plunge pool) and inviting terraces are ideal places to laze away the afternoon listening to birdsong. Agro tourism at its best – you are invited to pick your own fruit from the trees. The country views are lovely.
There are just 8 bedrooms, 6 in the main house and two in the garden. Some have terraces and/or jacuzzis in their bathrooms, and all are air-conditioned. They vary in size. In keeping with the house, they have been restored with original features and the use of neutral tones is striking and very pleasing to the eye. The Suite is the most private, away from the main house and is used by many Honeymooners. “The Suite is a gift from heaven” cite one newly married couple. There is Satellite TV, DVDs and CDs – choose one from the limited collection in the salon. Wi-Fi connection is available throughout.
Breakfasts are served at your leisure in the main dining room or terrace and I really mean at your leisure – no times – it is laid out in the morning and cleared away when the last person has finished! Lunches and dinner are available on a request basis (only to residents) – you just tell Miguel if you would like to eat that night before 3pm. The cuisine is very good Mallorquin fayre – they will cook the freshest that they can find that day giving a limited choice of dishes and an ever changing menu. Miguel provides his clients with a list of restaurants in the area and will of course make reservations for you. You can walk to the village through the trees.
An ideal Hotel for those who want a peaceful and informal get away from it all holiday in a beautiful setting. Excellent for walkers – a guide can be arranged.
