HEAVENLY SCENT ..............

As you walk up a steep street in this delightfully quaint small village of Fornalutx it would be easy to miss this unassuming small Hotel. That is from the outside. On entering you immediately realize that you are in something special where “design” is paramount. The dramatic clean lines mix surprisingly well with the terracotta floors and beamed ceilings. The Belgian owner, William Pehle has succeeded where many others have failed with this eclectic mix of old and new. Contemporary works of art abound, strategically placed to provide the “wow” factor. It is a restful place. Fornalutx itself is also aesthetically pleasing to the eye – pretty stone houses clinging to a hillside overlooking the orange grove filled valley. In orange blossom time the heavenly scent pervades every nook and cranny.

Inside, the hotel and gardens meander aimlessly. The pretty patio terrace has tables and chairs for breakfast and drinks. The terraced gardens surprise and delight, giving way to a small heated swimming pool and a further vine-covered terrace which serves as the restaurant in the warmer months. Views of the surrounding mountains and the Soller valley are breathtaking. It is remarkably peaceful.

The bedrooms are again, a delicate and effective mix of old and new with ever changing original works of art. The neutral colours are very restful. Fully equipped; heating; aircon; satellite TV;
Wi-Fi etc. Two of the double rooms have Jacuzzi baths. Massages are available in your room by appointment. The penthouse suite has the most amazing views (especially from the sumptuous bathroom) and is an ideal honeymoon option.

Breakfasts are served in the neutral-toned dining room or in the flower filled patio when weather permits. Light slad lunches can be served at the pool. The restaurant has a very good reputation serving the best and freshest of Mallorquin cuisine – the freshest of ingredients are sourced locally with a continually changing small menu. Dine under the vines in the warmer months.

An ideal Hotel for those who want an intimate hideaway in one of the prettiest villages on the island. Perfect for discovering the dramatic Northern coastline with many wonderful walks nearby. There are several restaurants in the village, mostly with terraces, thus taking full advantage of those inspiring views.
