LIKE A FINE WINE ..............

This 15th Century country house has matured to perfection and is sure to please the senses. Surrounded by vineyards, Torrent Fals once produced its own wines. Today the grapes are taken to the José Ferrero cellars in Binissalem where they are used to make some of Mallorca´s best wines. One of Santa Maria´s oldest ¨fincas¨, Torrent Fals was completely restored in 2002 and Pedro, the lovely owner, now continues his family´s history with this beautiful rural Hotel.

Serene tranquility in an intimate setting, the Hotel is ideally situated for exploring the island of Mallorca where country and city life harmoniously co-exist. For the energetic and the unenergetic alike, Torrent Fals offers the best of both worlds. A novel infinity pool beckons the guests to take a refreshing dip; the private pine forest is perfect for a romantic stroll, and the impressive salon, once the original wine cellar, is an enchanting place for a quiet drink from the honesty bar.

Many activities are on offer including horse riding lessons and guided rides through the countryside; tee-off times, green fees and instructors can be arranged at the nearby Son Termes golf course (just 14km away); guided walking and hiking excursions through the Tramuntana mountains. Cookery classes specialising in traditional Mallorquin fare may also be arranged during low season.

Its 9 bedrooms, one of which is actually a ¨Casita¨, a little one-bedroom house suitable for families of up to 4 people, have been tastefully decorated in classic neutral colours, keeping in tune with the decor throughout the rest of the house. Some of the bedrooms have terraces from which you can completely soak in your surroundings. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, central heating, satellite television, telephone, wi-fi, mini-bar, safety deposit box and full en-suite bathroom.

The restaurant, serving Mediterranean and international fare, is open only to hotel guests - do remember to reserve a table for dinner in the morning if you wish to dine in that night. The dining room, featuring a wood-burning fireplace, allows for cosy breakfasts and romantic dinners in the cooler months. During the warmer months, meals are served on the Hotel´s exterior patio.

During our visit to we asked Pedro if his Hotel has won any awards. ¨Yes, ¨ was his reply, ¨Best Hotel in the World - awarded to me by my mother!¨ It was then our hearts melted. Truly a family-run Hotel, and we are sure you will leave feeling as if you are a part of the Torrent Fals 600-year family history!
