A SIBARITE IN ALL OF US ..............

Inland and to the South of Valencia lies the village of Rafelguaraf. Simon and Neil were looking for something a little different, away from the tourist routes, but within striking distance of a major city and beaches. They were fortunate indeed to have an estate agent who understood what they were looking for and the result is this fetching and rather grand house in the village. Restoration completed, Casa Sibarita opened its doors in April 2006 and will surely become a success.

You enter directly into the large hall through the original antique doors from the street just off the main square in the village. This hallway houses the salon and intimate restaurant

There is a peaceful patio surrounded by high walls and climbing plants. It is a lovely place to take the sun on those hot languid days, lying on a sun lounger (with a gin and tonic of course!) before cooling off in the inviting swimming pool.

The 5 bedrooms – 3 doubles and 2 twins, whilst not the largest (obviously confined by the size of the original house) are tastefully decorated. They are simple and uncluttered. Two of the bedrooms have private terraces overlooking the patio and pool. All have walk-in showers. No TVs or telephones – the emphasis is on peace, quiet and relaxation after all, but there are CD players in all the rooms. All have heating, air-con, mini fridges. Bathrobes and hairdryers are provided.

Breakfasts are served in the restaurant. A light lunch menu is also available and the restaurant is open 7 nights a week for residents of the Hotel. It is also open to the public (the villagers want to eat there!!!) on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays by reservation only. Simon acts as Front of House (his ex-theatrical career make him an amiable host) and Neil comes into his own in the kitchen. He is a fully trained Chef and his dishes are well presented with a Mediterranean base.


An ideal Hotel for those who want an escape to the “Real Spain” but within half an hour of the beaches of Gandia, an easy days sightseeing in the wonderful city of Valencia, and a visit to the large town of Xativa with its impressive castle (home to the Borgias) is a must.
