A BREED APART ..............

One particular architect has been responsible for the design of several of the beautiful Hotels in this area (we feature two others on our site) and he must have rubbed his hands in glee when he was given this project. An old cattle farm with the main farm house and barns has been converted into a wonderful agroturism Hotel. Like the cattle that used to be farmed here it will most certainly become a quality breed! The same family has owned the farm for generations and now the younger generation oversees the day to day running of the Hotel. They are charming and friendly and you will be treated like family. The Hotel opened mid-2006 and if I have one piece of advice for you – go now before it gets discovered and becomes so popular that it is hard to get a room!

This huge farm is surrounded by almonds, olives, carobs and pines and the views are of a rural idyll. Set far enough away from any roads (it is up a track, but a very good one, so do not let that put you off!) the silence is wonderful. It is a back to nature experience with sufficient pampering and luxury to make it just a little bit different.

The reception and a salon with working fireplace (plus a few bedrooms) are in the main building.

The large swimming pool lies on the terrace down below the Hotel and benefits from a salt water purification system – no chlorine smell here! It has ample terraces surrounding it for sun-bathing and a shaded area. The garden is “coming along nicely” and as it matures it will enhance the beauty of this lovely farm.

New for 2011 is a lovely Spa and Wellness centre with a small heated indoor pool, sauna, turkish bath and massage and yoga rooms. Massages and treatments are available on request and should be booked in advance.

The 12 bedrooms (dotted about throughout the different farm buildings) are magical. Again the architect has chosen cream, whites and exposed stone and the overall impression is of light and space. Soft furnishings continue the theme and are very pleasing to the eye. All the rooms are different but one of the biggest attractions is that they all have terraces. There are 7 Junior Suites with small salon areas and 5 Doubles. They all have hydro massage baths and separate power showers in their slick, contemporary en-suite bathrooms. Lavishly equipped for a top of the range rural Hotel – heating, air-con, digital satellite TV, mini-bar, safe, bathrobes, hairdryers and a good range of toiletries come as standard in both room categories. The suites are ideally suited for honeymooners.

Breakfasts are served at your leisure in the main dining room which is in another converted barn. In warmer months this can be taken outside on the terrace under a cream canvas awning with fabulous vies over the countryside. Several terraces, both covered and open, surround the restaurant building with comfortable rattan sofas. Lunch and dinner are served in the restaurant (and on the terraces) from the kitchen overseen by their young and talented Chef. He creates his own menus and serves an eclectic mix of international dishes with a Mallorquin twist. His cuisine is already gaining a reputation. The restaurant is eye-catching in design and down a few steps you will find a bodega stocked with the islands finest wines. Tastings are available.

The location is excellent - just a few kilometres from San Lorenzo (now easily accessible by the new motorway from Palma) and in close proximity to beaches and 4 golf courses in the South-East corner of the island

An ideal Hotel for those who want to get away from it all and completely unwind and experience the new “breed” of agrotourism Hotel at its finest.
